Two introductory courses for potential users of the MAX IV facility

This announcement is oriented to students and postdocs with interest in advanced spectroscopy, diffraction and imaging techniques utilizing synchrotron radiation.

With the beamlines at MAX IV gradually becoming operational, students at Swedish universities are offered unique opportunities to familiarize with frontline research and develop skills in advanced experimental methods. With this goal we arrange two courses during the coming spring: one course consisting of a series of lectures given at Chalmers and a study visit to MAX IV, organized by the Gothenburg Physics Centre, and one course in the form of a summer school arranged by MAX IV and Chalmers at Backagården (in Skåne) and at the MAX IV laboratory. The courses are planned to be quite complementary, the former focusing on methods, physics and research highlights at different beamlines, the latter on lectures, exercises and hands-on sessions at MAX IV and follow-up discussions.
