Mattias Hallquist is a senior member of the Atmospheric Science group, Department of Chemistry, University of Gothenburg. His research interest is in atmospheric aerosol science. The laboratory part is mainly on secondary organic aerosol research with emphasis on properties and formation of particles from terpene oxidation. Hallquist is manager of the flow reactor facility which is a specialize set-up for SOA formation studies under controlled conditions. In addition to laboratory work Mattias is involved in field measurement where emphasis has been on the urban atmosphere and emission factors of particles from traffic related sources. Mattias Hallquist research carried out within the nanoplatform is mainly via the PhD-sponsored project "Laboratory studies of organic nanoparticle formation". The task is to understand the SOA formation from dedicated systems, e.g. terpenes+ozone. The project is linked to the cluster formation projects within the nanoplatform in order to understand atmospheric nucleation.
