The research scope of Prof. Willander combines different aspects of applied and fundamental physics. He is interested in both theoretical as well as experimental research. Regarding the device work it includes devices that operate in the classical regime and those based on quantum phenomena. He has contributed to the area of solid materials (mostly semiconducting materials) as well as soft materials ( e.g. demonstration of one of the first polymer transistors in the 80s.) Most recently he has extended his research interest into nano chemistry.
